What's Available at the Airport

Bear Spray Rental

Bear spray is strongly recommended for all visitors to Glacier National Park, and required for overnight backcountry trips. We carry UDAP brand bear spray — the same canisters used by park rangers. Rent for your trip and return when you're done. No need to ship it home or pay retail prices.

  • 24-hour pickup availability (coordinated with flight schedules)
  • Return at airport OR at our Apgar Village shop inside the park
  • Can't bring bear spray on a plane? That's exactly why we're here.

Hiking & Camping Gear

We also carry a selection of hiking and camping gear at the airport location, including trekking poles, sleeping pads, and other backcountry essentials. If you need a more complete gear setup, our full inventory is available at our Apgar Village shop inside Glacier National Park.

What's Included

  • UDAP bear spray canister
  • Hip holster included
  • Safety training & deployment tips
  • Return at airport or Apgar Village
  • 24/7 drop box returns at 4 locations
  • Call or text to arrange pickup time

Why Rent Instead of Buy?

A full-size can of bear spray costs $40–$55 retail. If you're flying home after your trip, you cannot pack it in your luggage — the TSA prohibits pressurized aerosols in both carry-on and checked bags. That means a can you purchased becomes trash at the airport. Renting makes more sense: you pay only for the days you're in the park, and you simply return it when you leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our airport location

No — the TSA prohibits bear spray in carry-on and checked luggage because it is a pressurized aerosol. This is the most common reason visitors rent bear spray at the airport rather than bringing their own. We're here specifically to solve this problem.
You can return bear spray at either location — the airport or our Apgar Village shop inside Glacier National Park. We also have 24/7 drop boxes at Huckleberry Hut (West Glacier) and St. Mary Village Lodge (East Glacier). Just let us know your return plan when you pick up.
Yes — a park entrance pass is required to enter Glacier National Park. You can purchase online at recreation.gov before your trip or at the park entrance booth. Note that a park pass is NOT required to access our airport location.
Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) is served by Delta, United, American, and Alaska Airlines with seasonal direct flights from major hubs including Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
Bike rentals are available at our Apgar Village location inside Glacier National Park, not the airport. The airport location specializes in bear spray and hiking gear for arriving visitors.
Call or text us at (406) 219-7466 to coordinate your pickup time with your flight schedule. We'll make sure your gear is ready when you land.
