West Glacier Bike Rentals

For families or beginners, the Apgar Village Bike Loop (7 miles, paved) is perfect. For a longer adventure, try the Gateway to Glacier Trail (14 miles round trip). If you want mountain views and a workout, Camas Road (24 miles round trip) is beautiful - we recommend an e-bike for the uphill sections.

Technically yes, but we don't recommend it for casual cyclists. Going-to-the-Sun Road is very narrow with no bike lanes or shoulders, steep drop-offs, and heavy traffic. You'll be biking in the road with cars at all times. Our local trails offer a much safer and more enjoyable experience!

2-hour and 4-hour rentals are available for both standard bikes and e-bikes. Full-day and half-day rentals resume mid-to-late June. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are encouraged during busy periods.

Evening-before pickup is available by request. Late season rentals begin at 8 AM. All rides start from our shop in Apgar Village with direct bike path access.

Yes! Helmets, locks, and personalized bike fittings are included with all rentals. We also provide expert route recommendations.

Standard bikes are perfect for the Apgar loop and Gateway to Glacier Trail. For Camas Road with its uphill sections, we recommend an e-bike to help with the climbs. E-bikes require riders to be 16 years or older.

Yes! Child bike trailers can be attached to both standard bikes and E-bikes.

Yes! We have kids' bikes in 20" and 24" sizes, plus Thule child trailers for younger children. Text us to set up a rental � it's helpful to know the ages and heights of any kids.

Walk-ins are welcome! However, reservations are encouraged during busy periods to guarantee availability. Texting us is the fastest way to get rental info: (406) 219-7466.

Reservations are not cancelled for fog, rain or a chilly day. We will cancel if the conditions are not suitable for biking (lightning, strong winds or extreme weather). Cancellations made at least 3 days prior to the trip will receive a full refund. Cancelling with 24 hours notice or more will be able to transfer payment to a future trip or program. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will receive no refund. No shows will also forfeit the entire reservation fee. If we cancel due to emergency, extreme weather, or if the rental item is down for repairs you may reschedule or receive a full refund. In the event Glacier Outfitters has to cancel the reservation, we will make every attempt to contact you in a timely fashion.

We highly recommend bear spray for any adventure in Glacier National Park. Bears and other wildlife are commonly seen on trails. We offer bear spray rentals at our shop.
